Anyway the last point I have to make here is that even if tumblr breaks under the algorithm (almost certain if they don’t back out of using it) and/or everybody leaves… I don’t have anywhere else to go or post things
people like to joke about it being bad, but I legitimately really like Tumblr. it actually feels like a blogging platform in a world where facebook and twitter are active political weapons that manipulate us elections. i don’t feel like i’m baring myself to content i don’t want to see here, or having to engage with a popularity-focused culture. the content isn’t sorted to influence you or trick you. it’s a bunch of people being themselves on their own terms. it’s oldnet.
yes, i do use other websites, but i’m not interested in posting personal things to any of them. this was a place i had control over and i’ll stay with it until i can’t. and when that happens there’ll be nothing left.
in the light of the newest tumblr purge, a lot of sfw content has been unjustly flagged by tumblr as explicit. all of us are here sharing the screenshots of this small dick energy. if you see a post that has been wrongfully tagged, take the time to shoot the OP a quick message (or send them an ask if they have their DMs closed) and link them the post you saw because while staff said they’d be notifying the OPs if their post got flagged, it’s not happening to all of us. my edits, for example, got flagged on accident and I didn’t get an email. I would have never known had I not seen a screenshot of my gifs. please help your creators out in this dumbass time.

no other platform has the right format for me to just randomly barf actual thoughts, joaks, and genuine creative content all in the same breath. i dont know how to compartmentalize
every other platform you gotta be a real person. Here you are you’re icon and username and whatever your hyperfixation is at the current moment
so I mean, here’s the thing. Measures absolutely have to be taken to stop the child pornography and naziism and shit. But their bots meant to detect these things…. are not working. And to suddenly change the rules to make them so extremely strict after over a decade of allowing nsfw content is kind of ridiculous, esp. when not giving us a way to see all our posts that were flagged without having to scroll back page by page on our blogs.
So people are absolutely right to be angry. I’m pretty sure we all want these problems really addressed, but right now all that’s happening is they’re driving their decent userbase away.
now that having basically any image in your posts places you at risk of getting flagged for “sensitive content” by the new algorithms, we’re just going have to start posting our reaction images in text format
so it’s been pointed out before that the Peggie radio plays specific music to each region (John = Hope County Choir, Faith = Reinterpretations, Jacob = Original versions)
but i’ve also noticed that Resistance Radio is tailored in each region as well
Faith/Henbane River plays oldies (30s-60s) and oldies covers
John/Holland Valley plays a lot of classic rock, modern rock, and alternative rock
Jacob/Whitetail Mountains has the broadest category – it plays classic rock, grunge, country & country rock, and alternative rock
