in the beginning, they grab onto Hudson and try to stop the Peggies from pulling her out of the helicopter crash. when they meet up with Hudson again after John’s death and she’s on the floor struggling to speak and not cry – right after she almost killed Rook when she didn’t initially recognize them – all Rook does is place a hand on her shoulder to comfort her
when the Sheriff is captured in the Bliss in Faith’s bunker and he has a brief moment of clarity to speak with Rook through the bars of his cell, they place their hand over his
when Virgil is killed and they realize he’s gone, they place a hand on Tracey to let her know and to comfort her
arriving at Jacob’s bunker to save Pratt, the first thing they do is place a hand on his shoulder, to check on him and see how he’s doing and let them know they’re there to rescue him
it’s a little detail but it really means a lot in my eyes – reinforces that everything Rook does is fueled by compassion
