Okay I’d only seen stills of it and it’s a lot less horrific in motion.

That’s exactly how I felt.

First I saw a still of Mr. Mime, and thought “wow, this thing is a horrific beast that wants to wear my skin”. But then I saw the actual trailer and thought “oh, nevermind. He’s more like a jolly fellow that only might want to wear my skin” which I’m pretty sure is canon.
