she’s the only child of the sheriff of hope county, and has two children of her own. the sheriff had recruited her for the mission to arrest joseph seed: he didn’t really want to get her involved, but he trusted her, and knew her capabilities (vs the rookie, who he could trust to keep quiet, but didn’t know much else). she ended up getting the stomach flu and missing the mission – a fact her dad is grateful for.

outside of work, she loves painting – she’s not necessarily the best, but she loves doing it, and has turned the sleeping porch of her house into a studio (where the kids aren’t allowed to go).

she’s still friends with her ex: it was an amicable breakup, one that they decided was best for the kids. after the heli crash, the twins move in with their dad full-time, and she goes to the county jail to help coordinate things from there.
